Apple’s iPhone Business is Now Larger Than All of Microsoft

This might not come to a surprise to the people that have been following Apple‘s numbers, but Apple’s iPhone business alone is bigger than the entirety of MicrosoftPCs, Xbox Consoles, and Windows Phones combined.

To the people doing double-takes, before you click the “X” to close this page, please take note that the 1st quarter of this year has been the most successful quarter for Apple to date, and that the company has been taking over the market since the debut of the iPad, and led the smartphone revolution against BlackBerry (remember them?)

So,what if we took the iPhone business out of the equation? According to Forbes, all of Apple’s remaining entities would still be larger than Microsoft. with a lineup of Macs, iPads and iPods, the Cupertino-based company is exponentially larger than pretty much every company in the world, not to mention the most valuable.  Also, based off of the recent 1st quarter Earnings Call, Apple’s earnings are twice that of Microsoft’s.

One more thing: just to show that it’s not revenue that we are comparing here and thus it being some trick of the product mix which just makes Apple seem larger, the company also makes about twice the profits of Microsoft: in the last quarter, some $13 billion against $6.6 billion.
